IATA Guidance Document – Specification of Hazard Labels (6:22 AM, 03/28/2018)

LOGAR will share this news with you:

As it is now well documented that the UN Subcommittee and the ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel have determined that the thickness of the line on hazard labels has no bearing on safety, and the provisions in the ICAO Technical Instructions and IATA DGR will formally remove reference to the thickness of the line on hazard labels with effect 1 January 2019, please find attached a guidance document advising that the dangerous goods acceptance check should not consider the thickness of the line.

Military

Often the transport of military supplies is subject to certain exceptions and exemptions in the modal transport regulations; to military vehicles and aircrafts these modal regulations are usually not applicable at all.

Because of the drastic changes which have taken place in the area of military logistics during the last few years, the changed requirements applicable to operational readiness for many military forces and the increasing degree of civil supply chain partners and civil transport conveyances being used, military supplies also must more often than not conform to civil modal regulations for the transport of dangerous goods and thus be prepared for transport in accordance with the ICAO “Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air” and / or the IATA “Dangerous Goods Regulations”.

For years LOGAR has been and continues to be a reliable and proven partner of military organizations and military forces in regard to training and consulting for the transport sector.

Among other services, we conduct dangerous goods trainings in staff category 10 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations for pilots of military fixed - wing and rotor aircraft. We also provide dangerous goods training for military packers, shippers and dangerous goods acceptance personnel in staff categories 1, 2 and 6; depending on the needs and requirements of the military organization or force in question under particular consideration of the specific military needs of such force or organization.
