Another video clip which is well worth to see, courtesy of the very proactive UK CAA:

One Team, one Goal highlights the handling procedures for mobility aids such as wheelchairs and helps to avoid common mistakes.

ULD - buildup training for shipping and handling staff

Klicken zum vergrössernThe buildup of Aircraft Unit Load Devices, commonly called ULD’s, is subject to a number of stringent requirements.

A broad range of factors must be observed, such as maximum load of the ULD, the running (linear) load limitation and the area load limitation. These factors ultimately depend on the type of aircraft, type and condition of ULD, planned loading position onboard the aircraft, the contour of the ULD, the restraint system and the load securing and many more

Klicken zum vergrössernThe loading, unloading and handling  of ULD’s must conform to the requirements of the IATA ULD Technical Manual (UTM), the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM), the ULD-related provisions in the IATA IOSA standards (applicable to air carriers) and the IATA ISAGO (applicable to Ground Service Provides) standards as well as the possibly further going requirements of the individual operators.

LOGAR offers three differently structured  types of ULD - related training:

ULDS1

The training aims at shipper’s who build their own Unit Load Devices for air transport, expressly excluding dangerous goods. The duration is three days (24 hours, consisting of eight hours theoretical basic knowledge and sixteen hours of practical exercises in a warehousing environment*).

The following topics are covered:

ULDF1

The training aims at forwarder’s and ground service providers who build either own Unit Load Devices for air transport or do so on behalf of a customer (e.g., a shipper), expressly excluding dangerous goods. The duration is three days (24 hours, consisting of eight hours theoretical basic knowledge and sixteen hours of practical exercises in a warehousing environment*).

The following topics are covered:

ULDM1

The training aims at military forces and their service providers who build either own Unit Load Devices for air transport or do so on behalf of a customer (e.g., a military shipper), at the customer’s choice either including or excluding dangerous goods.

Please contact us in order to obtain further information or references; confidence is, of course, assured.

*  The ULD buildup training are typically delivered only in the form of inhouse training at locations chosen by the customer. The presence of the required equipment and supplies is, of course, a mandatory prerequisite for this training; LOGAR will evaluate this before entertaining any request for such training. The course language is German or English at the choice of the customer.
